Hope

Knottingley

Knottingley is situated in the lower Aire Valley on the south bank of the River Aire, West Yorkshire. The town began life as an early settlement and now has a population approaching 17,000.

Hope sits in the very edge of beautiful countryside and is a short drive away from some areas of outstanding natural beauty. In just over one hour's drive you can be in some of the most breathtaking scenery in the country such as the Yorkshire Dales, Yorkshire Moors or the east coast resorts of Whitby, Scarborough, Filey and Bridlington.

The town has always been blessed with its fair share of pubs and some of these go back many years to the days of the mail coach services in Ferrybridge. For those of you who like to stay out past the midnight hour, the neighboring towns of Pontefract and Castleford offer a varied selection of nightlife.

The annual carnival, which has its origins back in 1927, continues to be staged each summer and attracts support from all corners of the community.

Knottingley has its own railway station with regular services into both Leeds and Wakefield where local trains connect with the mainline services to London and the North. The town is ideally situated with easy, convenient access to both the A1 (M) and the M62 motorway.

Three major international airports serve the area, Leeds/Bradford, Doncaster and Manchester.
