Art attack at a Blackburn Construction site...
School children from St Mary’s and St Joseph’s Primary School have brought a bit of artistic flair to a new home development in Blackburn.
The five and six-year-olds were asked by new home builder McInerney Homes to draw their fairytale abode for display at the nearby development, Kensington Gardens in Crossfield Street.
Tracey Lowe, sales manager for McInerney Homes North West, said they wanted to bring a bit of culture to the men in hard hats building the new houses. The drawings were so good the workmen pinned them up at the entrance to the development so everyone could enjoy them.
Tracey Lowe said: "After setting the art project for the children of St Mary’s and St Joseph’s Primary School we were overwhelmed by the response.
"The drawings are amazing and our builders on site were very impressed. Thank you to all the children who took part and for the help of the staff. Their enthusiasm and talent is a credit to the school."
The children’s teacher Sarah Holmes said: "We’re delighted that McInerney Homes liked the pictures and that the passing public can stop and enjoy the children’s art at the entrance to Kensington Gardens. The children worked very hard and we’re very proud of their talents."
McInerney is committed to forging links with the communities in which it builds and as part of this responsibility the home builder enjoys good links with local schools close to all of its developments.
