Wrong turn leads to the home of dreams for family
After an unsuccessful and frustrating stint of home-hunting, the Hodgkinson family stumbled across their dream home on an accidental detour and did the deal of a lifetime, moving in just 6 weeks later.
Neil and Cheryl Hodgkinson fell for the three bedroom dream home on the Heritage development in Lower Hopton, Yorkshire, and after initial enquires, they discovered that having a house to sell wasn’t a problem as McInerney Homes would happily organise a part exchange deal.
Neil said: "We had lived in Hanging Heaton for years and we decided to make a move before the recession took our chance of change away. We had put our old home on the market for over six months but we knew we needed to do something about it quickly.
"One day Cheryl took a different turning by chance and drove into the Mclnerney site. We didn’t even know that it was being built but straight away we knew it was the place we wanted to live.
"The whole Part Exchange process from start to finish was very smooth and we were all sorted within weeks. We couldn’t believe it."
Married for nearly nine years, Neil and Cheryl have two sons, Jack (7) and Tom (5) so the garden was a big draw to the new home.
Neil continued: "Our old house had a three tiered garden so it wasn’t very good for a kick about, now with our new home we have a lovely big flat garden which is secure, child friendly and good for football.
"The space upstairs in the property is fantastic and we couldn’t ask for a better finish. The en-suite is a huge bonus.
"Now we are settled we can’t wait for more of the other homes on the development to get snapped up; the location and design of the development is just perfect for fostering a community spirit."
The Hodgkinson’s bought their property through the Part Exchange scheme, which offers home buyers a faster route up the property ladder by incorporating the value of their previous home in the sale. Still available on selected plots the incentive allows you to secure the home of your choice with an offer for your existing property, following a simple "you buy ours, we’ll buy yours" scheme, and you can even remain in your own home until your own Mclnerney home is ready to move into.
The Heritage development offers an excellent choice of properties, ranging from luxurious one and two bedroom apartments to spacious three and four bedroom houses, some with three storeys.
Its location is a bonus too; it sees the peace and tranquillity of the sweeping Yorkshire countryside and also some of the North's most cosmopolitan cities within easy reach.
Residents can benefit from the local amenities including two secondary schools; train station, shops, inns, pubs and hotels and a golf course for leisurely weekends.
Alison Bambridge is on site at the development, which has two stunning showhomes, Thursday through to Monday 11am until 6pm and can be contacted on 01924 499009. Further information is also available on all developments on www.mcinerneyhomes.com.
