McInerney incentives get people moving

The new home development in Holes Lane in Knottingley has experienced a raft of people moving in over the last few weeks all thanks to the amazing range of McInerney Homes’ incentives.

A number of very happy families are all settled in having taken advantage of the range of incentives, including assisted move, part exchange and a shared equity scheme to buy their new homes.

Elizabeth Jennings used the Assisted Sale incentive, in order to move home to Knottingley after living in Leeds for 15 years. Elizabeth returned to the area to take over the reins of a former family business, Jennings Funeral Services, and expand it into new premises.

The 28 year old, who also lives with her partner Matthew Jackson and their 2 dogs, Charlie and Annie, looks back at the time she moved into the development:

"At only five minutes drive from my business, Hope is in a perfect location. The only downside was that I knew I would have difficulty selling my house in Leeds, which I had bought with the intention of renovating, but with such a busy work life, I had never got around to it.

"I chatted to Christine, the sales negotiator at Hope, and she offered me the McInerney Homes Assisted Sale, which meant that she reduced the price of my new Langdale, so that I could drop the price of my house in Leeds. My house in Leeds was sold in just two weeks and I was ready to move into Hope.

"It was an incredibly stressful time for me while the premises for the new Funeral Parlour were being built, and I was selling my old house and buying my new home, all at the same time! Because I didn’t have to worry about selling my old house, the assisted sale just took so much pressure away."

Anne Marie and Steve Fox are Hope’s moved into their three bedroom townhouse house just a couple of weeks ago, with their dog, Star, who is a rescued Greyhound Lurcher cross.

When the Fox’s fell in love with their Staveley house on the Hope development, they were soon reassured that having their own house to sell would be no problem, as McInerney Homes could offer the couple a Part Exchange Incentive. Following a simple, "you buy ours, we’ll buy yours" scheme, this meant that the value of their home was incorporated into the sale, allowing the couple a faster route up the property ladder.

37 year old Anne Marie who works as a supervisor for a local vending company said,

"The Part Exchange deal was just perfect for us. It meant that we could move from our home in Byram, which we had outgrown, into Hope, in a matter of just eight weeks.

"We’ve only been here a couple of weeks and already, we feel right at home. Hope is a small delightful development with a strong community and all our neighbours are just lovely.

"I absolutely love the spacious design of the house, and the French doors in both the kitchen and the lounge area are just fantastic".

Catherine and Michael Keith are the newest arrivals at McInerney’s Hope development, having moved in just a few days ago with two of their three children, Simon and Shaunna.

When the Keiths heard about McInerney’s 1st Step Equity Scheme, they quickly realised that moving into a four bedroom Langdale was actually possible.

Catherine, a nurse, explained,

"The First Step offered us the fantastic opportunity of being able to move into our Langdale home, without which it just wouldn’t have been possible. We love the Hope development. Its location is perfect, especially for the local schools."

‘First Step’ is a shared equity scheme where McInerney Homes will provide an interest free loan for 25% of the purchase price of the new home for up to 10 years, secured by a second charge on the property. This injection of a quarter of the value, makes that first step much easier, and also assists with a mortgage application as it acts as a sizable deposit. Unlike some shared equity schemes, there is no rent or other charges to pay on the 25%...buyers own 100% of the property for just 75% of the price.

Positioned on the edge of some of Yorkshire’s most stunning countryside, Knottingley offers all amenities, yet is close enough to the larger towns and cities to reach them with ease either by car or public transport.
